Denver: Huge city with tons to do. Lots of great food and drink...Cuban, biscuits, pizza, speak-easys. There is a Gaylord Resort here that does some fun winter activities. The science museum isn't as cool as OKC's, which is surprising.
Breckenridge: Not a day trip. Recommend staying at a ski-in condo for a few days to make it worthwhile. My daughter and I spent $500 to get a couple hours on Dec 27, 2022!
Pagosa Springs: Lots of character in this little town. Wolf Creek is about 30min from center where all the restaurants and most of lodging is. Restaurants are small, so wait times for party of 4 is typically around 40min, even around 5pm! Hot springs are in various locations, you can pay high dollar for the resort or find a free spot along the San Juan River. Club Wyndham has a good setup which is where we stay. They have a recreation center with gym/pool, activity center, welcome social with cocktails, and a good location next to WalMart/City Market.
Colorado Springs: Near and dear to my heart. Lots of outdoor recreation/hiking with Pikes Peak, Seven Falls, Kissing Camels, and Red Rock Canyon. The North side of town is growing fast and has a lot to offer for retail shopping and chain restaurants. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is truly unique and next to the Will Rogers Shrine that glows on the mountainside. If you have some money to blow, opt for the Broadmoor and a 5-star experience. Highly recommend their Sunday brunch, reservation required!
